Central Transdanubian
Central Transdanubia entices guests with the unique and special harmony of its colorful mix. The bright, exciting patchwork of its natural treasures, historical and cultural values and folklore offers varied and enriching activities for all visitors. The region stretches from the Danube to Lake Balaton and the Sió Canal. In the north-west lies the enchantingly beautiful countryside of the ancient block-mountain range of Transdanubia, divided here into the Gerecse Hills, the Vértes Hills and the Bakony Mountains. Journey through the hills and admire the splendid natural treasures and historic monuments, as well as small villages nestling in the valleys. South of the hills lies Lake Velence, a popular place for holidays, bathing and water sports, and in the southern part of Fejér Country is the Mezőföld, an extensive plain.
