Szanazug is a holiday resort area situated in the South- Eastern part of Hungary, in Békés County. It is 18 km far from both Békéscsaba and Gyula, while the nearest settlement is Doboz village.
The Juvenile Holiday Resort Centre ( Youth Hostel, Jugendherberge ) can be found 500 meter far from the Kettős- Körös River, in a beautiful forest glade of 4,7 hectare having outstanding microclimate, separated from both the resort center and the settlement itself. It waits for its guests with renewing establishments, equipment.
Owing to its conditions, it provides outstanding possibility for holiday taking, sporting, as well as for different kind of events such as touristic, sport, craftsmanship, acting, artistic, yoga events, as examples.
There are good possibilities to hold juvenile meetings, national and international exchange programs, organize social meetings for small communities.
It is one of the base sites of the “By two wheels in Békés” bicycle tour, and one of the stations of the water route starting from Beius ( Romania ) at the Fekete ( Black ) Körös River, going on the Kettős-Körös River to the Tisza River, the city of Csongrád ( Hungary ). ( It is possible to rent 1-2 seated kayak or 2-4 seated canoe ).
